Unless she turns around one day and says "Its out. She should've just shut up and left it as it was there was no need for a sequel. Yeah I can see where it'd go. You know there's still a war against the rebel humans and the souls but damn the Host ending was good enough for me.

Fair enough if she planned on carrying out what she promised but to leave your fans down like that, and not give them any notifications or updates on what is going on is just unfair and completely unjust. Very disappointed in her. View all 48 comments. Nov 25, Jessica marked it as to-read. To come out in ? They should really add a 'Maybe' after that. Stephenie is like the most unreliable author out there.

Midnight Sun, anyone? Just because she said on Oprah or where ever she hoped to do two sequels to her best book, doesn't mean she will. I hate to sound so mean, but I'll believe it when I read it. Edit May 8th, How shameful!!!! Edit February 10th, I wonder if goodreads can be edited by users, like Wikipedia.

Cause these blurbs are ridiculous. This blurb sounds way to excited for two Host sequels. Shouldn't it be more objective than that? Also, just to note, this book should have come out last year, and it still doesn't have A A proper blurb, B A cover, or C A reliable author. I'll probably be 30 by the time this book finally gets written.

IF she ever writes it, it will be just to get more money from the movie deals she will get. Edit June 20th, The Seeker is to be released in ! I'm so excited!

I've only been waiting Add another year The movie flopped. Do we have to have another book? The fandom is practically dead. Just let it die. It probably will anyway. I still maintain this book will never be written. Edit April 13th, I don't use goodreads as much as I used to, mainly because I have a job now, which is what I should be doing even as I type this. However, I feel it is my solemn duty Whoever edits goodreads has smartly taken down a release year.

It was supposed to come out this year, just like it was supposed to come out in The book does have a paragraph description. Points for it.

But, since there is no release date, how do we as a partially loyal fandom even know that won't change. If it ever get's written, the book could be about something completely different. Stephenie's so fickle that wouldn't surprise me at all. So, since I have written this review November, 25th I have now waited for this book 1, Days. That's about one fifth of my life. Edit October 9th, I feel like I'm constantly getting trolled by Stephenie Meyer. First, there's Midnight Sun.

Then, this book. And now, genderbent Twilight. Genderbent Twilight. I've read some passages, and I've read actual Fanfiction better than that. But seriously. There was no announcement to it, and she basically confirmed that she wasn't writing Midnight Sun ever. I know I've wrote this "review" as mainly a joke. But I'm starting to feel really betrayed by Stephenie Meyer. I hate the fact that she threw us fans a genderbent bone to pacify her fans.

I just want to know if she's going to ever write this freaking book. Edit August 9th, Soooo, I start school tomorrow, and I've had a grand time not dealing with all the disrespectful children. Would've loved to read The Seeker, but it still doesn't exist yet.

Since I have no life outside of work, I had a lot of free time on my hands. Here is a little something I wrote to pass the time Those where the good days. My thoughts on this book are well… It's in development hell It would not be a hard sell If it would just come out The Seeker will be so rad Werewolves and vamps were a fad This wait just makes me so mad Why can't it just come out!

Your just wasting time now Twilight was your cash cow Why did you stop writing Meyer? There was info on her website that I occasionally check hoping for news on this book. Ah well.

And for those still wondering, since the day I wrote this review, I have waited 2, days for this book to be written. This amounts to Slightly over a quarter of my life. In another six years I can add the meme of Sirius Black shouting about how long he waited. Edit March 13th, List of things that happened before The Seeker which shock me: Wonder Woman movie 2. Avengers movies 3. Me going out on actual dates 4.

Kingdom Hearts 3! And it was horrible: Power Rangers Remake with cameo from the best ranger ever Kimberly, don't me 9. An allegedly bad Stars Wars movie?

I don't actually watch SW, but Solo sounded like a miss. How did that beat The Seeker! My trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Butterbeer is terrible, btw. A bad Harry Potter movie: While that number oddly satisfies me, that means it's also I'm not 30 yet!

So there is still hope that this book get's written before then. Aug 01, Emily marked it as will-never-read. O Rly? You sure about that? View all 23 comments. Nov 12, Taschima marked it as to-read. This shit is never coming out. The end. View all 12 comments. Okay, here is the crucial question, is this EVER going to be published? Or am I waiting for something that will never happen?

Did she decide that there is no point in writing this? Because I would rather know than stupidly wait. A quick search showed that there are no news about the sequels since So, I will just assume that this will never be published.

Jan 05, Elena marked it as maybes. Wow - I thought, a continuation of The Host?! How did I miss the announcement?! But after I read about it Are you serious?! But anyhow, though I agree with some of the comments here that some endings are better off untold, I'm still gonna get my hands on this book as soon as it I nearly jumped of my bed when saw this book on the list of "Most Exciting Upcoming YA Books" on current site!

But anyhow, though I agree with some of the comments here that some endings are better off untold, I'm still gonna get my hands on this book as soon as it comes out as I just loved the Host!! Jan 08, Tabatha marked it as sequels-to-read. You can check out more reviews by me on my blog: I mean I- I can't even.. I'm a mixture of insane, insane, insane excitement, And this horrible, horrible, horrible dread that sequels may tint the flawless world Stephenie Meyer has created..

Well anyways, that's just how I feel.. Thought I'd let all of you guys know: Hope you're having a great day wherever you are! Mar 15, Aves marked it as unlikely-to-read-this Shelves: Ah, it looks like the book description was fixed at some point. Thank you to whoever changed it--it's now much more obvious that the entry is a placeholder for a potential book, and not an entry for a book that's already been written.

Am I the only one who's calling shenanigans on this book entry? Because there's no ISBN on this entry, there's no description for the book, and there's no publisher name, even though it's supposedly already been published.

Also, Amazon doesn't have a link to t Edit: And you'd think that if she'd released a new book, it would show up there if nowhere else. Just sayin'. While I personally don't care about a sequel to The Host, because I never got into any of Meyer's works, I've got a bad feeling that a lot of fans are being taken for a ride here. I really hope I'm wrong. View all 8 comments. Dec 28, Aly Locatelli added it. Didn't the first one come out like 4 years ago? Isn't this series dead already?

View all 7 comments. Jun 06, Sara marked it as to-read Shelves: IF , IF, if, if, if!!!!! If she writes these sequels, keeping in mind she might not. But let's just say she does, OK, I don't know if I'll like them. Everyone kind of got there happy-ending apart from the fact that I really don't like Wanda's new body, couldn't she have been a little better?

Why ruin those endings by telling us more about their lives. Something tragic is just bound to happen, and I'll be sitting there, probably mourning a favorite character. Or she'll do something stupid, and h IF , IF, if, if, if!!!!! Or she'll do something stupid, and have me shouting at the main character for being stupid. Or she'll just get dam lazy and go down a stupid cliche path And at the end I will be sitting there thinking why oh why did she write a sequel!!!

Of course, if the books did come out I'd have to read them instantly. Great lets forget everyone's character development through The Host, and how the entire book was basically about those humans accepting Wanda, and accepting how the aliens acted. No, no let's go back and look at the same characters before all of that. Honestly sometimes a prequel isn't that bad but you know what, not here. Because really this is the book I wanted to read. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact.

Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, didn't expect to find its former tenant refusing to relinquish possession of her mind. As Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of Jared, a human who still lives in hiding, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she's never met.

Reluctant allies, Wanderer and Melanie set off to search for the man they both love. Which at first glance appears to be a weird love triangle which it kind of was , an alien I won't like not the case and a main character called Melanie who I will didn't atually like her in the beginning.

Now maybe this says something about prejuding, because the Host turned out to be a great look in human behavoir. But compared to this- When an unseen enemy threatens mankind by taking over their bodies and erasing their memories, Melanie Stryder will risk everything to protect the people she cares most about — Jared, Ian, her brother Jamie and her Uncle Jeb, proving that love can conquer all in a dangerous new world.

Yes-it still sounds like way to much romance, and do I really trust Meyer to write a good action scene? But still far more appealing, by instantly putting humans as survivors and aliens as bad guys, which is far easier to relate to and far closer to other horror scenarios.

But now I see no appeal to The Seeker. What we get to see humans, characters we like, misdjuge and hate, aliens you taught us to love in the last book? And what is a on-the-run survival story without action? Or will we be seeing how Melanie met Jared likely but how can there be the same tension of living in the caves without everybody being on edge with Wanda around.

Not saying that having an alien occupation on the planet would let people be calm, but after they befriended Wanda, that cave got rather homey. I just don't see how, with the knowledge and experiences of the first book, this can really work. But I feel the need to find out if it does. Also, the next book is called the Soul, are we finally going to get Wanda's other life stories? May 26, Donita Luz marked it as waiting-to-come-out Shelves: Then I saw this.. There's a title..

Aug 28, Yonaily marked it as to-read Shelves: I got tired of waiting. View 1 comment. Aug 02, Makenzie marked it as to-read. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this. I really did like The Host, and when I'd first read it, I wanted a sequel, mostly because I couldn't get enough of the world she'd created. But after re-reading it a couple of times, I like the way it ended. Perhaps if she writes the sequel as a separate story with separate characters, but still obviously within this realm of humans and souls, then perhaps it would be okay.

I'm just not sure where she will go from the ending of The Host if she continues I'm not quite sure how I feel about this. I'm just not sure where she will go from the ending of The Host if she continues with Wanda's story or that of her little group. View 2 comments. Mar 01, Beth marked it as to-read Shelves: I hate that this and the other sequel will probably never exist.

Meyer's extremely lame excuse for not wanting to kill main characters off in a dangerous world is ridiculous. It probably half-killed J. Rowling to kill off as many beloved characters as she did in the HP series, but she understood, as Meyer clearly does not, that confrontations between good and evil usually result in a lot of bloodshed on both sides.

Only if we as readers suspend our disbelief beyond reason could we accept a wor I hate that this and the other sequel will probably never exist.

Only if we as readers suspend our disbelief beyond reason could we accept a world where being on the side of good means that there is no pain, no death, so sacrifice - that those are reserved only for those on the side of evil. That's not realistic. Apr 17, Ale marked it as to-read Shelves: Para cuando el libro Stephenie Solo es un consejo que te doy.
